Become a Trainer

If you’d like to be recognised as a Transition Trainer at the international level of the Transition Towns Movement, have your profile added to our global map, and join our Trainers Community of Practice, please submit your application here. We accept applications year-round and review them on a monthly basis.
Please note the following requirements only apply to recognition at the international level of the Transition Movement. Regional and national Transition Hubs may have their own requirements.
There are two different pathways for official recognition at the international level:
Pathway 1
- Successfully complete a Transition Train the Trainers course. An English-language version of this course that was taught online in 2023 is currently available for anyone to take for free here.
- Demonstrate that you've facilitated at least one Transition Training in the past two years.
Pathway 2
- Be accredited as a trainer from another organisation or movement that is closely aligned with Transition, such as Gaia Education, Gaia University, the Global Ecovillage Network, Permaculture, 8 Shields, and The Work that Reconnects Network.
- Demonstrate that you've led at least three trainings related to Transition over the past two years.
Regardless of which pathway you choose, we require that all trainers participate actively in the Transition Movement, demonstrate their ability to deliver high-quality courses, work cooperatively with other trainers, and seek to embody Transition Principles in everything they do.
